Airport
Jimmie Austin Seminole Municipal Airport is an outstanding facility. Seminole is very proud of the level of air service it provides. a 5,000 foot runway accommodates private and small commercial aircraft, and there are 34 hangars available, there is ample storage for a private plane. Will Rogers World Airport is only 50 miles away in Oklahoma City. A massive renovation and expansion project has been completed to better accommodate seven major commercial airlines and 17 airfreight companies.
Trucking
Two express carriers serve Seminole, and eight motor freight companies work on an as needed basis. With major highways in almost every direction, connections to anywhere in the country are easily scheduled. Progress continues on U.S. Highway 377 for-lane project from Stroud to Ada, adding yet another express shipping route.
Rail
With the increase in demand for goods, Seminole leadership has placed the restoration of rail service as a high priority. plans to reactivate a line connecting east-west and north-south arteries are being completed and should soon be operational. The AOK short line plans to lease a stretch of line between McAlester, through Seminole and on to Shawnee, adding another meas to transport goods.
Seminole is within 100 miles of the Port of Catoosa, located on the Arkansas River at Muskogee. The port has a channel depth of nine feet and allows access to the Mississippi River and Gulf of Mexico.
